NetherRealm Studios has released the official announcement trailer for Injustice 2. No specific release date has been given besides for 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.So far, it looks like Superman, The Flash, Batman, and Aquaman will be returning, as well as newcomer Supergirl. A Businesswire article also mentions that Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd will be playable villains in the game, as well.
Also according to the article, it sounds like players will be able to customize and level up the playable characters.
It's difficult to figure out exactly what is going on in the trailer. Who's on whose side is a bit of a mystery as all the heroes featured appear to be fighting each other. Maybe there are multiple sides this time around?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, GRODD IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so freaking hyped for this game and now Grodd is actually playable to boot, this is a dream come true for me and I can't put into word how happy I truly am so here's a gif.....

Oh, yeah, new game announced, time to come back fully!
Supergirl looks fucking great, and I am excited for Grodd. I don't know who Atrocitus is.
At first I thought the armor thing was some kind of Instinct Mode or perhaps "different modes" like in DBZ games. Now, that I know it's some customizable RPG thing... I don't know how to feel about that.
Anyway, here's hoping for some gameplay at E3!

The exclusive first Injustice 2 gameplay footage will be streaming live from the ESL Mortal Kombat X Season 3 finals tournament Saturday, June 11th.
The event brings the elite Mortal Kombat X players who qualified to compete for the grand prize in the final bracket! The finals and gameplay unveiling will stream live via Twitch!
Fingers crossed for Grodd gameplay because I can't wait to see what he looks like, I'm hoping for a New 52 costume.
