Prima Games has revealed that it has not been given the rights to produce an official strategy guide for Mortal Kombat X. This marks the first time a Mortal Kombat fighting game will not have an official strategy guide since Mortal Kombat II.

As some of you may remember, the official Mortal Kombat (2011) strategy guide from Prima was riddled with errors. Taking that into account, and the ability for NetherRealm Studios to tweak gameplay easily with game updates, a strategy guide frome them would never be accurate for very long in terms of damage percentage, frame data, etc., anyways.

With NRS now listing a character's special and finishing moves in the pause menu, and advanced combos a simple Youtube video away, there's really no need for strategy guides, nowadays. It's sad, but true.
