ed_boon.jpgIn a new new IGN video interview, Ed Boon states that they will be "re-instating an 'ality" from a previous game for Mortal Kombat X, instead of adding an "all new" finishing move as previously thought.

Since Babalities were in MK2011, I'm going to assume the only possible choices are Friendship, Animality, and Brutality. There's also Hara Kiri, but that's not really an iconic MK finisher, so I doubt they would include that.

In my personal opinion, I think the MK team may want to even out the intense gore seen in Mortal Kombat X with some light-hearted friendships.

I think that brutality really deserves a second chance... the question is: will brutalities be like MK Trilogy (i mean a simple 27 plus hit combo with a finishing blast) or they will make them more personalized per character and add X-ray elements to it? Just a food for thought...

I don't think it will be brutalities. If they were to remain similar to MKT, they would resemble Killer Instinct Ultras far too much. And what would be the point of a brutality that is basically just a fatality with x-ray elements? The new gore engine in MKX already allows for the same level of anatomy you see in an x-ray.
Someone saying it was Animalities from Boon saying maybe they got it from video so don't know be okay with any of them.
I still thinking Animality! Ed Boon - Eyebrows

Watch the video in the link.
I saw the link earlier this morning. He said reinstated -ality. Then shortly after, there was a short clip of an animality from MK3. It would make more sense if it were an animality. Brutality could work depending on the animation but I really believe it's an animality. The clip wasn't just a mere coincidence unless it's just a big psych out..

OMG HORY SHET
Brutality. They were planned for MK9.

And they're my favorite finisher.
Think it's friendship or animality
Unless the friendships are actually funny and not cheesy or lame, I'd rather they not do them. That's just my opinion. I wouldn't mind animality to come back. As for brutalities, the only way I could see that working is if it just gave you the option to beat them to death; to just use any and everything possible. Not like a fatality but more just like "hey I'm gonna take that tree and beat the crap out of you till you explode."

Agree on Friendships about some may be cheesy, think that it's more Animality than Friendships
I think that in MK9 they basically fused Babalities with Friendships, so I'm gonna go with Brutalities.

I dont want to be a complete hipster, but actualy voted for Hara Kiri's! I think these were friggin amazing ahaha.

When I played @ Gamescom there were more ????? placed @ the move list that were used for finishing moves, it could easily mean we get Friendships & Brutalities, or what ever you like to put at the questionmarks

Though Ed said in an interview that the amount of questionmarks wont be the same, (with a grin on his face) I find it hard to believe, they will probably make those "ULTRA SECRET" (MK3 Animalities anyone?)

Though deep inside I also do hope for brutalities D:

I like hara hiris too but I doubt they'll return.
I read an interview from Gamescom and when asked about the new -ality, he said that brutalities are definitely a possibility, followed by a grin. So I think because of the removing of brutalities from MK9, they will come back in MKX.

It won't shock me if Brutalities return in MKX and to be for real I welcome them back with open arms! Tanya _Grin
