KOMMENTS
Supporting only? This means either Kitana or Mileena could be out of the next game, even though they could be in it. Maybe the roster will be smaller in NetherRealm's first XO/PS4 entry. Kai - Thumbs Up
Better late than ever... little by little news for the upcoming MK are starting to show up... Kenshi - Pray and another thing... i do not think they will stop making MK games... ever...
Can't express in words how excited I am!
I seriously hope they announce the game at E3 also anyone else find it interesting its listed as "Mortal Kombat 2"

I'm sure that's just a placeholder since the official title probably hasn't been finalized, yet.
I would just call it MKX

How about Ultimate Mortal Kombat?

That or go the Street Fighter way. Super Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat Turbo, Ultra Mortal Kombat, or Mortal Kombat Alpha!

Ugh, no. Bo' Rai Cho - Puke

It would have to be the same MK game for a decade for that one.
"Mortal Kombat X" as a name would make sense: This would be the second MK game with a Roman numeral (the first being MKII), this is the tenth MK game and X is perceived cool in general.

"Mortal Kombat 2" would make sense market-wise too, because when you look at other series — they usually utilize that number when possible, even if they'd otherwise rely on subtitles.

"Ultimate Mortal Kombat" already exists on Nintendo DS, it's a game that bundles Puzzle Kombat and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. The port was carried over very well, you can even see all the finishers and special moves of your character in the lower screen.
Wander what supporting role is I'm thinking mileena/kitana may not be on roster
Some of the zombies (incl. Kitana) may be added later on as DLC.
I'm staying with my guess that I made in 2011 that the next MK game is going to be called "Mortal Kombat II", it's weird how Kitana and Mileena aren't playable which kind of sucks.

Think you might be right unless it is adventure it will have a subtitle. Yeah that would suck if Kitana and Mileena aren't playable and might be seeing new characters and ones expected might not be playable but scorpion, Ed Boon said count on him returning.

If it would be "Mortal Kombat 2" instead, people could differentiate it from the original second Mortal Kombat.
