Remember back in 2011 when Warner Bros. and New Line were supposedly looking to release the next Mortal Kombat film in 2013? Well, ComingSoon.net had a chance to catch up with the film's director Kevin Tanchoroen, and apparently production hasn't even started yet.

We're still pushing through on that. The script is in a good place, we're just kind of figuring out the budget and locations and that whole process is where we're at.

The end of 2013 is already right around the corner. At this rate, we'll be lucky to see the film's release by 2014.
