I hope its based off of rebirth I'm sick of all this "lets make it like the game" bullshit we saw how that turned out with the first two movies I want rebirth because its a new story and its more interesting then watching a movie about somthing I already know whats going to happen

Seemed like some were upset with the first two and I liked them both but like to see a new one but needs cgi or something but I'll watch for sure.

No rebirth or anything like the first two films. Though my feelings towards the first film aren't as bitter after having read the script. With a script that bad it's amazing they made a film.

The reason the first two failed is because the writer and the producers were idiots who watered the story and content down, made almost every other character into a henchman, tried to combines the stories of 2 or more games into one and then they had directors who had little-no experience what so ever (the second one was a damn cinematographer)

I haven't heard any news that its canceled.

On wikipedia it says begin filming on March 2012 for release in September 2015 release coordinated with new game but issue preventing from filming so September 2015 release still intact maybe and budget of $40-50 million.

There was supposed to have been a new Mortal Kombat movie for the last 13 yrs. I remember back when it was supposed to be called Devastation, then that never took off. Then I think before the new MK series launched, like a couple of yrs ago (and correct me if I'm wrong, please) which was supposed to be penned by I think Oren Uziel (can't remember his last name). Now that they've pretty much rebooted the series they really gotta make the movie now. If it's going to coincide with the new MK then I can see the new MK arriving late '14/early '15. I just hope that they can put some dignity back into video game movies. Hell, let Christopher Nolan direct it.
