According to video game website
Giant Bomb,
Mortal Kombat (2011) dominated the sales charts for the month of April with around 900,000 units sold, surpassing tough competitors such as
Portal 2,
Lego Star Wars III: Clone Wars, and
Pokemon.

- Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters

Not long after the sales figures were announced,
Mortal Kombat co-creator
Ed Boon stated via
Twitter that the game has actually surpassed one million units sold, and that the sales figures collected by the
NPD Group were only for the standard version of the game, and did not take into account the Kollector and Tournament editions.
This is excellent news for
Warner Bros. and
NetherRealm Studios. The game has only been out for a few weeks, and already it's a commercial success in just the USA alone. Kongratulations
MK Team!
