I agree. Another Scorpion/Sub-Zero mash-up is not what I was expecting. I'd prefer something as simple as the new dragon logo over this. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are overused way too much! The game is not just about them!

I Agree with fuzz they are getting overused. Have like Some other characters Like: Raiden and Kahn facing
off. Or some one different then Scorpion & Sub-Zero

Basically it defines the series as best as it could in one box. It shows the two most recognizable characters from the games, and it showcases the new dragon logo as well, you really can't make it have much more appeal than that.

Man why not only the Mk Logo, with MK underneath it, i mean this looks pretty chaotic, its cool, but i guess its nostalgic feel (with only the Dragon logo) would make even more people buy it, i think xD

Boxart is never quite as cool as you'd hope it'd be if you're a fan. The goal is to catch the eye of the everyday consumer, they can't just put the logo on the cover because that'd be too simple. So they put two ninjas of contrasting colors showing off their talents with that logo in the background to attract the eye. Have to look at it from a marketing perspective.

You it'd be funny if turns out aside from a small cameo from both of them, that neither Scorpion nor Sub-Zero appeared in Konquest/Story mode and they decided, "What the hell lets put them on the cover."

Bleh, Scorpion takes up the majority of the box lol.
Here's my criticism. They didn't need to add Sub-Zero and Scorpion to the cover. I know they are the poster boys and most recognizable characters. The Dragon Logo alone should be the cover. The game is "going back to its roots" its roots never had characters on the cover (not counting the MK:A Kollectors steel cases).
