Some of you may remember two douchebag teens that killed a seven year old little girl back in December 2007 and tried to blame in on Mortal Kombat. Click here if you don't. Well, the verdicts are now in. GREELEY ? A teen charged in the death of a 7-year-old Johnstown girl during an alleged imitation of the "Mortal Kombat" video game has been sentenced to 36 years in prison.
Eighteen-year-old Lamar Roberts pleaded guilty last month to knowingly or recklessly causing a death through child abuse and was sentenced Friday.
Prosecutors alleged that Roberts and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Heather Trujillo, were baby-sitting Trujillo's half-sister Zoe Garcia on Dec. 6, 2007, when they kicked, hit and slammed Zoe to the floor during an imitation of the video game.
Trujillo pleaded guilty to negligently causing death through child abuse. She must serve six years in Colorado's youth offender system.

Also, according to kotaku.com, Mortal Kombat probably didn't even play a role in the child's death.
"Garcia's aunt and stepmother later said they believed that Roberts made up the Mortal Kombat alibi, and that video game violence was not the issue here."

I believe what the aunt said is true. They just wanted to blame something instead of themselves.

This is why MK has a bad rep with the media because of stupid shit like this. It's one thing to get the game and do the fatalities but it's completely different to emulate the game in real life. Either the kids were on something or they were stuck on stupid. Thank God that justice was served. That little girl didn't deserve such a violent death.
