mkonline.jpgFellow Mortal Kombat fansite Mortal Kombat Online has a tradition of hosting chatroom interviews with the MK Team after the release of a new game. However, this year's "Fight Night" chat session has come to us a fews days before the release of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Based on previous Fight Nights over the years, the MK Team usually ends up posting a lot of silly answers as opposed to serious ones, but this year's was actually pretty informative. While there were still a lot of odd messages posted by various MK Team members (ahem, Mr. Pesina), a majority of fan questions were answered respectively.

Here are a few important bits of information revealed:
  • Only two fatalities will be censored for the US version - Joker's and Deathstroke's gun fatalities. The fatalities themselves will be the same, but with slight camera angle differences.
  • Dark Kahn will not be a playable character.
  • Midway will release a Dark Kahn render after the game's release.
  • Johnny Cage makes an appearance in story mode. Why he and other MK1 & MKII characters are not playable in the game will be explained in both story mode and the Kollector's Edition comic book.
  • PS3 PAL and NTSC will not be able to play against each other.
  • 14 total arenas
  • Practice mode is very robust.
  • MK Team had about 30 DC characters to choose from before narrowing the final roster down to eleven.
  • Quan Chi plays a very large role in story mode.
  • Shao Kahn and Darkseid are very powerful but play like normal characters - can be thrown, put into free-fall/klose kombat, etc.
  • Story mode is not like konquest from previous games. It is very cinematic, with strictly 1-on-1 matches.

That sure did answered a lot of questions about the game. Especially about Johnny Cage. Its pretty obvious Quan Chi plays a big part in the game.

Dark Kahn will be released after the game. Interesting I guess.

Nice information

lol robust

Jon Greenberg said they don't want to spoil anything. I guess he doesn't know Midway released that komic kombat movie a while back revealing what Dark Kahn looks like. Havik - Roll Eyes
To be honest, it seems that newer updates for MKvsDC seem to be more of a letdown, with a real Dark Kahn render being released later, only 14 stages, and Dark Kahn isn't being a playable (I have a thing for bosses being playable). But overall, this doesn't effect me buying the game, I already blew 10 bucks on a preorder
