mk_vs_dc.jpgWell, the rumors were true. A crossover game featuring characters from the Mortal Kombat and DC Universes is really going to happen. Midway made the official announcement at their annual Midway Gamer's Day Event in Las Vegas, yesterday.

I really can't express my utter frustration and disappointment in words. What happened? Was the MK team just completely out of ideas and couldn't figure out where to take the storyline, or did Midway simply sell out in the hopes of increasing their profit margins?

Honestly, it doesn't even make sense. Superheroes don't kill people, so how the hell are they going to perform fatalities? The only thing I can imagine is if all the superhero characters are infected with a virus that makes them go crazy, like the Marvel Zombies alternate storyline, and the Earthrealm warriors need to stop them.

Also, since it's DC comics involved, Superman will definitely be a character. SUPERMAN!!! Except for kryptonite, he basically invincible. Bullets richochet off his eyeballs for crying out loud! How the hell are some kicks and ice blasts going to hurt him? Again, it just doesn't make sense.

Sigh...

Well, more information and media should be flooding the internet very soon. Lets hope Midway and the MK team can convince us that this installment is worthy of being included in our beloved Mortal Kombat universe. I will post updates as they become available.

Oh, one last thing. According to fellow Mortal Kombat fansite TRMK, the official website for the game is http://www.worldscollide.com. At this time, there is nothing on the site, yet.

Just to let you know Fuzz there's currently a rumour flying that this next MK installment will be rated T for Teen, which means no fatalities.

Yes, I am aware of that rumor. I didn't mention it because I'm still trying to block that whole concept from my mind. Bo' Rai Cho - Puke
Money money money. Can turn a great thing into an ugly beast. Lets take gold diggers for examples. Ugly as hell but still wants that money. Just like Midway.
Listen to Boon, he's been wanting to do a crossover for awhile now. I think it's *gulp* a good idea.

I say it's all wrong idea: just like seeing a comic with Justice League superheroes doing crossover with Bugs Bunny and the guys.

Boon should have thought something else for a crossover, wich are known more from their brutality.
All I know is, it is going to be weird going through FDMK's reference section and seeing Superman pop up. o_O

I've actually been thinking about that myself. It actually kind of sucks, imo. DC characters are going to look just plain odd mixed in.
I not all that shocked to see this happening. I fogured either this or Marvel vs. MK would happen or both. I am shocked to see this happening so soon, I figured we would've seen Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter or Midway vs. Capcom first! Mokap - Laugh
But Still I don't believe this is the Mortal Kombat 8 we've all been wondering about. This is probably just a crossover and may not have impact on the stoty, I mean it could have impact or it Could be like Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 & 2, Didn't affect Street Fighter or Resident Evil or anybody eles in Capcom. I think MK8 will be next year, and still M-Rated, This is just tie us over with a crossover finally happening. As for characters like Super-Man, it'll probably have something in the story making him mortalier. I've always wanted to kick his ass as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, or hell even Batman or Stryker!
