'Tis a sad day for the Mortal Kombat kommunity. Kamidogu, one of the most popular and fastest growing Mortal Kombat fansites on the web, has unfortunately been unable to keep up with high hosting costs due to its bandwidth usage. Now when you go the site, you only see the Kamidogu logo and this message from its owner, Veljo:
As many of you know, Kamidogu was a site affiliate, and I was also a forum administrator, there. I'm extremely sad to see it close, and I feel it's tragic that the site's downfall was actually due to it's popularity. The staff tried very hard to figure out ways to save the site, but none of them seemed to materialize the way we had hoped.
In the end, I guess it was better to let the site die a graceful death, then let it struggle on to remain open.
Man, i was sad when i found that out, it was only my 2nd day there and i really liked it....i only got to post 20 times, i wish i could've done something to help you guys...
I was surprised seeing the main page of kami with the message of that site being shut down. And from there I decided to head back to TMK, where shadowninja4 was born. And then as I decided to go back to kamidogu.com I didnt even know that the link leading to fuzzdork's site was there. Good thing it was there so at least I get to be with the peeps of kami like Crispydragon, lionofdemise, etc.
YEp. This does kind of suck. BUT actually recently it has been more of a pain than a pleasure, at least my experience there. IT's good that it went down before things got completely out of hand. Also, I'm somewhat relieved that I'm not obligated to moderate it anymore. It is sad to see the community go though. But I suppose most of them are elsewhere on different forums anyway. Oh well.
Ah, yes, I remember the first time it died out... we were able to save it, thanks to a few special members, but now, like Veljo said, it's probably gone forever...
Man. That really sucks. That was one of the best fan sites around. It was my favorite site for a long time. I even set it as my homepage for quite a while. I am sure gonna miss it alot. Farewell Kamidogu. And thanks from all of us for the great site you had going. Peace.
Well Im not usually the optomistic type but Kamidogu was a mortal kombat site maybe it will follow suit and come back to life (get a good investor maybe who knows) But that was terible news to find out Why Do the Good Die Young!=(
Veljo still has the whole site backed up.. so if some divine intervention were to take place it would be possible to bring it back up to exactly the way it was.
