Kratos
Kratos, a demi-god, is the main character of the God of War series of video games. Portrayed as an anti-hero and driven by vengeance, the morality of his actions throughout the series are often questionable.

Kratos was the youngest Captain of Sparta's army. Eventually defeated by a barbarian horde, Kratos called to Olympian god Ares for help. Ares gives Kratos the Blades of Chaos, and he goes on to destroy his enemies and blindly follow Ares, killing hundreds in his name. After Ares tricks Kratos into murdering his wife Lysandra and daughter Calliope in a temple dedicated to Athena, he renounces his service to Ares. As the temple burns, a village oracle curses Kratos and condemns his to wear the "mark of his terrible deed", being the ashes of his family. The ashes turn Kratos' skin chalk-white, earning him the title "Ghost of Sparta."

Kratos is a guest character in Mortal Kombat (2011) on the Playstation 3.

Ancient Greece knew no more bloodthirsty a warrior than Kratos, who for a time was the God of War. Mortal once more, Kratos withdrew from the ages-old clash between men and gods. But his solitude was broken when he was ripped through space and time. As the madness subsided, Kratos found himself in present-day Outworld, kneeling before Shao Kahn. To ensure his victory in Mortal Kombat, the emperor had invoked an ancient ritual, sacrificing the souls of his vanguard to summon and enslave the most powerful warrior of all time. But the spell alone could not contain Kratos, who soon regained his free will. Enraged by Shao Kahn's arrogance, Kratos vowed to rip the warlord's spine from his body. The God of War had returned to battle.
