The Lin Kuei Grandmaster is the apparent leader of the Lin Kuei clan. He cares little for the fate of anything but the Lin Kuei, and the destruction of their archenemies - the Shirai Ryu clan.

The Grandmaster made a deal with Quan Chi to have Sub-Zero steal the Map of Elements in exchange for the extermination of the Shirai Ryu clan. Later, he enlisted Sub Zero for Shang Tsung's Mortal Kombat tournament.

During the events between Mortal Kombat 4 and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Sub-Zero acquired the Dragon Medallion and took control of the Lin Kuei as their new Grandmaster.

In Sektor's Mortal Kombat (2011) ending, it is revealed that the Lin Kuei Grandmaster is his father.
